While we’ve taken several steps to mitigate cacheing of PDF menus, many Cafe Managers prefer to change the name of their PDF’s every week.
The video above to shows a new procedure for updating the link to your PDF.
WARNING: Changing the PDF link in the traditional manner will only change the link for Monday. See below for an explanation.
WHY WE MADE THIS CHANGE
Because of the new feature to show the current day’s menu, the header and menu for each day is contained in it’s own editing block.
Monday is the default and is in the standard editing block. On Tuesday – Friday, the default is over-ridden by the Alternate Timed Content.
The “shortcode” [xyz-ihs snippet=”Weekly-Menu-Header”] is a placeholder in each day’s menu. When you edit the “snippet” in XYZ HTML, the link in each day’s menu is updated as well.
